So I was no more than 2 hours too late to renew the level i was working on "andy's betrayal" (next to andy's tale). I had a lot of projects and work this week and wasn't able to finish it off until now.

I was literally 1 puzzle away from finishing the level with already 6 hours or more put into it.

Is there any possible way of retrieving it at all?

I'm sorry, but in order to retrieve an unclaimed area we need to restore the world from backup and do intricate manual work to get the relevant data.
The draft timeout used to be 24h - but we lengthened it to 48h - and all it takes is to touch your unpublished area once to reset the timer at any given time back to 48h...

We have a planned feature for the game to let players (who want it so) know about a soon to be expired drafts via mail.

You can now opt to receive draft expiry E-Mails. You'll have a fair warning 6 hours before you lose your draft.
Enable them in your E-Mail setup via your profile page.
