Small lightbulbs that can be triggered on or off. It's a lightbulb that occupies teh same space of a musical note.

-When OFF, the lightbulb is dark gray and doesn't emit any light.
-When ON, the lightbulb emits a light that can light up a small area around it when the Veil of Darkness is ON.
-You can choose colors for the lightbulbs.

I'd make it a candle, with different colour wax for the colour changes.

candles don't make a good pixelart source, because it isn't a single object (it'd be the wax AND the fire object together).

also with LED lightbulbs you could make those neon signs with the triggers
