I'd like to have it. Then, in dialogs you could use $P tag to add player name.

Not really 4th wall shattering. Think of Change Name Zelda, Chrono Trigger and other japanese RPGs have had. You basically choose name for your character.

I tend to enjoy playing the character of Mitsu.
So I guess this is feedback in the opposite direction, Keep the name static please!
It will get might confusing if/when you add more characters

I think that mitsu is a nice name, it is also the only thing that is constant in the whole game. If you change it, the game will look like a bunch of different games together, instead of one game with a large map.

Keep mitsu as his name.
