Areas with portals should have a glowing purple outline on the mini-map. Don't tell anyone for the reason of the glow.

Yeah, suggested something like a portal badge, but this could be even more cool way to put implement it

Nah, needs to be subtle, Adding a bunch of stuff to the game and not telling people what they do allows people to explore it themselves and try things out on their own.
